It All Started January 2024 During My Morning Devotions

Reading through Psalm 148 on my outside pool deck that mild Florida winter morning, the poetic Biblical words struck a couple musical chords in my heart. I was awestruck, pondering ALL of God’s creation — both animate and inanimate — giving Him praise. 

I felt compelled to create a song based on this Psalm, which could be played by our church worship band at Cornerstone Family Church (St. Cloud, Florida). 

As I pondered the talent in our worship band, almost immediately I composed the music bed on my Samick grand piano. Then in my studio I gave it a 1970s electric guitar & bass disco/funk feel (think Donna Sommer), adding B3 organ & 3-part vocals a tad reminiscent of 3-Dog Night. During the recording process Summer 2024, my vocalists knocked it out of the park, giving the song a powerful, passionate, captivating gospel flair. 

The worshipful, ethereal bridge is very contemporary, with a 2020s caught-up-in-His-presence ambience. 

And the song rocks start to finish — a perfect opener for any church’s praise & worship set!
